Memphis

A mid day set

My desire for a career in music isn't all that surprising considering I was born and lived the first eight years of life in Memphis, Tennessee. It's intriguing to me how you can spend early years of your life in a place that seems so surreal who you return as an adult. However, in the case of Memphis one thing seems to have remained the same in my mind; there's always live music. Beale Street has live performances so frequently and all in such a short walk for each other. Memphis is still a place in the US where it is abundantly clear how much music matters. It's a shame that it cannot be said about more places, but Memphis's history is so deeply involved in music.
